Report Card from our Customers
Market research indicates that we are effectively meeting the needs of insurance professionals
At the end of 2007, CEU.com undertook a market research project to find out how we are doing in terms of meeting the continuing education needs of insurance professionals. We teamed with Genesis Marketing and Research to conduct an online survey, using a random sample of email addresses from our customer database. A total of 230 people responded, with the individual responses remaining anonymous. We are pleased to report the results.
Nine out of ten (89 percent) said they are “satisfied” or “very satisfied with their overall experience with CEU.com. More than half (58 percent) believe CEU.com is better than other continuing education providers, and more than nine out of ten say the would “definitely” or “probably” use our products and recommend us to colleagues in the future.
The most common way for a respondent to learn about CEU.com is by the recommendation of a friend or co-worker. By far, convenience was reported as the most important factor in choosing CEU.com as a continuing education provider, and more than half of respondents tried CEU.com for the first time because the products were easy to use or convenient. Six in ten respondents strongly agreed with the statements “The website is easy to navigate” and “I am able to complete courses in a timely manner.”
In this sample, the average respondent has used CEU.com for more than six months but less than a year. He or she works for a company with more than 500 employees, and is between 45 and 54 years old. The three most common jobs held by our respondents are sales representative (19 percent of respondents), adjuster (16 percent), and customer service representative (11 percent).
We are constantly striving to enhance our products to make them both convenient and relevant to your needs as insurance professionals. We are happy to know that we are reaching our goals, but we know there is always room for improvement. Your comments and suggestions are welcome any time!

The Atlanta Tornado: What it means to insurance providers
Natural disasters such as the recent tornado that struck downtown Atlanta remind us that businesses are as susceptible as individuals to extensive property damage and loss. This tornado hit an area that was dense with commercial property, and although personal injury was thankfully, minimal, business damage and interruption were considerable.
The twister caused significant damage to the city’s largest convention venue, the Georgia World Congress Center, as well as the Omni Hotel, which lost nearly 500 rooms. The Georgia Dome also sustained substantial damage, causing the lucrative SEC basketball tournament to find an alternate venue. Storm damage was estimated at $250 million dollars.
The damage at the World Congress Center caused the cancellation of the Atlanta Home Show and a dental convention. Trade shows are required to carry their own insurance, so the insurer of the World Congress Center is only responsible for the damage to the building and not the property already inside.
According to Bruce MacMillian, president of CEU.com, “Insurance professionals need to remember that both their individual and business clients can experience major, unexpected losses when weather-related disasters strike. It’s important to keep up-to-date on all risk-related courses so you can serve these people in the most effective way possible.”
Through CEU.com’s convenient online system, insurance professionals in all 50 states can easily gain access to our many insurance courses that will keep them compliant with all licensing requirements.
